Skipper

Adopted: November 2004

Thanks to al the generous donations we received for Skipper's care, he recently received the surgery he needed to remove the smashed femur head from his broken leg. He continues to recover wonderfully. He now enjoys his new life with Leslie, his guardian, and his new dog siblings Quito (also an A Leg Up Rescue alumnus) and Quinn.

Here's what Skipper's guardian has to say about his most recent antics: "Skipper is hilarious: He is now able to push off with both legs and leap into my lap. Well, this morning he did it for the first time while I was typing on the PC and didn¹t expect it. Then he vaulted onto the desk, walked all over the keyboard and sent my cordless mouse cascading to the ground, sending the trackball rolling across the room and I still haven¹t found one of the batteries. He thought all this noise was great fun! If he had been a cat, one of his lives would have gone!! As it was, I was laughing so hard. But, now that he can jump, he sails across the living room jumping from my lap to a footstool to the couch and back never touching the ground. The pain meds have really helped and when they are gone, he should be much better on his own. That hip now has some muscle bulge instead of just bone poking out."
