Henry

Henry was adopted by a wonderful couple who already adopted two little dogs from A Leg Up Rescue. They report the three dogs are getting along wonderfully, and Henry has wasted no time making himself right at home. He is one very happy dog, sharing his life with two other very happy dogs, and together they three of them make their dog guardians extremely happy! Whew.

Henry was rescued from deplorable conditions by a wonderful woman who couldn’t stand to let him continue living outdoors or in the basement in a wire crate without human companionship or interaction. One day while leaving work she noticed he was left outside in the cold rain, and the next day he was still outside in a small crate with no food or water, or a blanket for comfort. She offered the “owner” some cash for Henry, and it was a done deal! She took him home, dried him off, and promised him a brighter future. Henry took to the idea of being an indoor dog and a companion. He weighs a mere 4.5 pounds and is only a year old. He is extremely loving and a bit needy right now (which is understandable, given his lonely past). While Henry gets along great with other small dogs and is fine with cats, he would prefer a home free from larger dogs. They intimidate him because of his petite size. If you ask Henry what he wants to do all day, he’ll tell you he loves to sit in your lap or be near you in some fashion (he’d make the perfect little coworker!).
